Chef Johan Halsberghe is passionate about expressive yet classical cooking, celebrating the European dining experience and the beauty of simply well-executed dishes.

His culinary journey began in the kitchen of his grandfather Joseph, a traditional baker in Old Antwerp, Belgium. From a very young age, Johan spent countless hours by his side, inspired by his precision and devotion to craft. At twelve years old, he enrolled in culinary boarding school, laying the foundation for a lifelong pursuit of culinary excellence. After completing internships at Michelin-starred restaurants in Belgium, the Netherlands, and France, Johan set out to explore kitchens across the world, from Hong Kong, Australia, and New Zealand to Thailand, Singapore and South America, experiences that continue to shape his global perspective and style.

Fifteen years ago, Johan moved to New York City to serve as Executive Chef to the Belgian Ambassador to the United Nations, a role he continues to hold today through his Personal Chef and catering services, bringing refined, memorable food to private events across the city.

Whether through an intimate dinner, a catered celebration or a visit to one of his restaurants on 100th Street, Chef Johan finds joy in sharing his culinary universe — creating experiences where people feel welcome, inspired and nourished.
